Who Needs ATF Fingerprinting After the Gun Show#
You need fingerprinting if you are filing any of the following:
ATF Form 4 — Transfer of a suppressor or NFA item ATF Form 1 — Making and registering an NFA item Suppressor purchase through a licensed dealer Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) registration Short Barrel Shotgun (SBS) registration Gun trust application (all responsible persons) Responsible Person Questionnaire (RPQ)

Yes. Same-day and next-day appointments are typically available. We recommend scheduling online in advance to secure your preferred time.
Do I need to wait for my dealer paperwork before getting fingerprinted?#
No. You can get fingerprinted at any point in the Form 4 or Form 1 process. Many customers get fingerprinted while the dealer is handling the paperwork on their end.
Do I need a separate fingerprint appointment for each NFA item I purchased?#
If you purchased multiple items at the gun show, you may be able to use one EFT file for multiple applications. Confirm with your NFA dealer for your specific situation. We can discuss this at your appointment.
What if I am filing as a gun trust and have multiple responsible persons?#
Each responsible person on the trust must submit their own fingerprints. We can accommodate multiple responsible persons in the same appointment block — contact us to arrange.
EFT or FD-258 — which should I choose?#
If you are filing through ATF eForms (electronic), you need EFT. If you are filing a paper application, you need FD-258 cards. When in doubt, ask your NFA dealer which format your application requires. We provide both.
Can I reuse my EFT fingerprints for a future suppressor purchase?#
Yes. That is one of the primary advantages of EFT. Storing your EFT file on USB allows you to reuse it for future NFA applications without a new fingerprinting appointment.
