ATF Fingerprinting Services We Provide#
EFT Digital Fingerprint Files (Recommended for ATF eForms)#
The ATF eForms system requires an Electronic Fingerprint Transaction (EFT) file — a standardized digital fingerprint file captured via live scan technology.
EFT files are:
- Required for ATF eForms (Form 1 and Form 4 electronic submissions)
- Reusable for future NFA applications — no need to get reprinted
- Deliverable via secure digital transfer or USB drive
- Higher quality than traditional ink card impressions

FD-258 Fingerprint Cards (For Paper ATF Applications)#
For customers submitting paper ATF applications, we provide traditional FD-258 fingerprint card capture using both digital live scan transfer (recommended) and standard ink methods.
FD-258 cards include:
- Rolled ten-print impressions
- ATF-compliant formatting
- Quality review before you leave
- On-site FBI-approved FD-258 cards available
Who Needs ATF Fingerprinting#
Fingerprinting is required for all individual NFA applicants and responsible persons on gun trusts when filing:
- ATF Form 4 — Transfer of NFA item (suppressor, SBR, SBS, machine gun, AOW, etc.)
- ATF Form 1 — Make and register an NFA item
- Suppressor purchases (individual or trust)
- Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) registrations
- Short Barrel Shotgun (SBS) registrations
- Any Other Weapon (AOW) applications
- Responsible Person Questionnaire (RPQ) for gun trust co-trustees
Gun trust applicants: Every responsible person listed on the trust must submit fingerprints. We can fingerprint all responsible persons at a single appointment.
EFT File vs. FD-258 Card — Which Do You Need?#

| Paper ATF applications | Not accepted | Required |
| Reusable for future NFA items | Yes | No |
